It is your Creator’s holy Will that you complete Itself, and that your Self be Its sacred Child, forever pure as the Divine, of Love created and in Love eternally present, extending Love, creating in Its Name, forever One with the Divine and Its perfect Creation.
Yet what can such a Function mean within a world of fear, conflict, and guilt? Therefore you have a function in the world in its own terms. For who can understand a language far beyond their simple grasp?
Forgiveness represents your function here. It is not the Divine’s Creation, for it is the means by which untruth can be undone. And who would pardon Heaven? Yet on Earth you need the means to let illusion go. Creation merely waits for your Return in order to be known again, not to be complete.
Creation cannot even be conceived of in this world, for It has no meaning here. Forgiveness is the closest It can come to Earth. For being of Heaven, Creation has no form at all. Yet the Divine created One Who has the Power to translate into form the wholly Formless. The Holy Spirit forms dreams, but of a kind so close to awakening that the Light of the world already shines in them, and eyes already opening behold the joyful Sights their offerings contain.
Forgiveness gently beholds all things unknown in Heaven, sees them disappear, and leaves the world a clean and unmarked tablet on which the Divine’s Word of Truth and Love can now replace the senseless symbols written there before. Forgiveness is the means by which the fear of death is overcome, because guilt holds no fierce attraction now, and death is gone. Forgiveness lets the body be perceived as what it is: a simple teaching aid to be laid by when its usefulness is done, and only lightly touching those whose learning it aids.
Only forgiveness can relieve the mind of thinking that the body is its home. The mind healed from believing it is a body cannot make mistakes. It cannot think that it will die, nor be the prey of merciless attack. Anger becomes impossible, and where is terror then? What fears could still assail those who have lost the focus of all attack, the core of anguish, and the seat of fear?
Only forgiveness can restore the awareness of the Peace that the Divine extends to Its holy Children. Only forgiveness can persuade the Children to see again their holiness.
With anger gone you will indeed perceive that for the Gift of Sight and the Vision of Divine Essence no sacrifice was asked, and only pain was lifted from a sick and troubled mind, restoring it to health and Happiness and Peace. Is this unwelcome? Is it to be feared? Or is it to be hoped for, met with thanks, and joyously accepted?
We are One and therefore can give up nothing, for we have indeed been given Everything by the Divine forever. Yet do we need forgiveness to remember that this is so. Without its kindly Light we grope in darkness, using judgment to justify our frustration and despair. Our understanding is so limited then that what we think we understand is merely confusion born of error. Without forgiveness we are lost in mists of shifting dreams and fearful thoughts, our eyes shut tight against the Light, and our minds engaged in honoring what is not there.
Who can be born anew in Innocence but them who have forgiven everyone they perceive or think of or imagine? Who could be set free while they entangle anyone in their illusions? Jailers are not free, for they are bound together with their prisoners. They must assure that their prisoners do not escape, and so they spend their time in keeping watch on them. The bars that bind their prisoners become the world in which the jailer lives, along with their prisoners. And it is through their prisoners’ liberation that the way to freedom depends for both of them.
Therefore entangle no one. Release instead of bind, for thus are you made free. The way is simple. Every time you feel a stab of anger, realize you hold a sharp and heavy object above your head. And it will fall or be removed as you choose to condemn or forgive, to be condemned or set free. Thus does each one who seems to tempt you to be offended represent your awakener from the prison house of death. And so you owe them thanks instead of pain.
Be merciful today. The Children of the Divine deserve your mercy. It is they who ask that you accept the Way to Freedom now. Deny them not. Your Creator’s Love for them is the same as Its Love for you. Your function here on Earth is only to forgive them, that you may accept them again as part of your whole Identity. They are as the Divine created them. And you are what they are. Forgive them now all their “transgressions” and errors, and you will see that you are One with them.
