I am a holy Child of the Divine Itself.

Here is your declaration of release from bondage of any kind. And here as well is all the world released.

The separated ones do not understand what they have done by giving to the world the role of jailer to the Children of the Divine. What could the experience of the world be when thus assigned but threatening and resentful, fearful of shadows, punitive and wild, lacking all reason, blind, insane and sad?

What have you done that this should be your world? What have you done that this is what you perceive?

Deny your own Identity and this world of illusions is what remains. You look on chaos and proclaim it as yourself. There is no false perception that fails to witness this to you. There is no mistaken sound that does not speak of frailty within you and without; no halting breath you draw that does not seem to bring you nearer death; no temporal hope you hold but will dissolve in tears.

Deny your own Identity and you will believe yourself stuck in the madness that induced this weird, unnatural, and ghostly dream that mocks Creation and scorns the Divine.

Deny your own Identity and you will believe that you assail the universe, alone, without a friend, a tiny particle of dust against the legions of those opposing you.

Deny your own Identity and look on nightmares of evil and death, and watch despair snatch from your fingers every scrap of seeming hope, leaving you nothing but the wish to die.

Yet what is it except a child’s game you play in which your Identity can be denied?

You are as the Divine created you. All else but this is folly to believe. In this one Thought is everyone and everything set free. In this one Reality are all illusions gone, their impossibility understood. In this one Truth is Innocence proclaimed to be forever Part of Everything, the central Core of each One’s Being, and Its Guarantee of Invulnerability and Immortality.

Just let today’s Idea find a place among your thoughts, and you will have risen far above the world and all the worldly thoughts that seemed to hold you bound. And from this Place of Safety and Release you will return and set the world free. For they who can accept their true Identity are truly awakened from the dream of illusions. And their awakening is the gift they give to everyone with gratitude to Spirit, Who guided the Way to Happiness that changed their whole perception of the world.

One holy Thought like this and you are free: You are a holy Child of the Divine Itself. And with this holy Thought you learn as well that you have freed the world. You have no need to use it fearfully and then perceive fear in it. You set it free of the burden of your delusions. You will not look upon a devastating image of yourself walking the world in terror, with the world twisting in agony because your fears have laid the mark of death upon its heart.

Be glad today how very easily the nightmare of separation is undone. You need only tell yourself:

 

“I am a holy Child of the Divine Itself

Who cannot suffer or be in pain.

I can only extend and be extended,

and succeed in doing all that awakening asks of me.”

 

And in that Thought is everything you perceive wholly transformed.

A miracle has lighted up all dark and ancient caverns where the rituals of death echoed since time began. For time has lost its hold upon the world. A Child of the Divine has come in Glory to find the lost, to protect the helpless, and to give the world the gift of their forgiveness. Who could perceive the world as dark and sinful when the Divine’s Child has come again at last to set it free?

You who perceive yourself as weak and frail, with futile hopes and devastated dreams, born merely to suffer pain and weep and die, hear this: All Power is given you in Earth and Heaven. You can do all things in your accord with Divine Will. You have merely been playing a game of helplessness and death, pitifully tied to dissolution in a world that shows no mercy to you. Yet when you accord it mercy, will its mercy shine on you.

Then let the Children of the Divine awaken from their sleep, and, opening their holy vision, return again to bless the world they made. In error it began. But it will end in the reflection of their holiness. And we will sleep and dream of death no more.

Then join with me today. Your Glory is the Light that awakens the world. Receive and give awakening now. Behold the world and perceive the suffering there, and let your heart be willing to bring your weary sisters and brothers rest. They must await your own Release. They stay in chains until you are free. They cannot see Mercy in the world until you find It in yourself. They suffer pain until you have denied its hold on you. They die until you accept your own eternal Life.

You are a holy Child of the Divine Itself. Remember this and all the world is free. Remember this and Earth and Heaven are One.

Chapter 17: The Illusion of the Special Relationship

 

6. Transitioning to the Real World

The search for the special love relationship is the sign that you are equating yourself with the ego and not with the Divine. For the special relationship has value only to the ego. To the ego, unless a relationship has special value it has no meaning. And it perceives all love as special. Yet special love cannot be natural or real, for it is unlike the Relationship of the Divine and Its Children, and all relationships that are unlike this One must be unnatural and unreal. For the Divine created Love as It would have It be, and gave It as It is. Love’s only Meaning is as Its Creator defined It, by Its Will. It is impossible to define Love otherwise and understand It.

Love is Freedom. To seek It in a fantasy of imprisonment is to separate yourself from It. For the Love of the Divine, no longer seek for Union in separation, or for Freedom in bondage!

As you release, so will you be released. Remember this, or by your choice Love will be unable to find you and comfort you. There is a way in which the Holy Spirit asks your help, so that It can give Its Help to you. The Holy Instant is Spirit’s most helpful Tool in protecting you from the attraction of guilt, which is the actual lure in the special relationship. You do not recognize that this is the actual appeal of the special relationship, for the ego has taught you that freedom lies in it.

Yet the more carefully you observe the special relationship, the more apparent it becomes that it must foster guilt, and therefore must imprison. This is because the special relationship is totally without meaning without a body. And if you value the special relationship, you must also value the body beyond how Spirit values it. And what you value, you will seek and attempt to keep. The special relationship is a device for limiting your self to a body, and for limiting your perception of others to theirs.

The Great Rays when seen establish the total lack of value of the special relationship, and of the body beyond how Spirit values it. For in seeing the Great Rays the body disappears, because its true value is understood. And so your entire investment in looking upon the body, which endows the special relationship with the value you look upon in it, is withdrawn from it.

You perceive the world you value. On this side of the transition to the Real World you look upon a world of separate bodies seeking to join each other in separate unions, and to become one by losing themselves. When two individuals seek to become one in this way they are trying to decrease their Magnitude. Each would deny their Power, for their special union would exclude the Universe. Far more would be left outside this relationship than would be taken in. For the Divine would be left outside, and nothing would be taken in. If one such union were made with perfect faith, the Universe would enter into it. Yet the special relationship that the ego seeks does not include even one whole individual. For the ego only wants part of the other person, and looks upon only this part and nothing else.

In the Real World it is so different! For a time the body is still perceived, but not exclusively as it is perceived in the world of illusions. For the little Spark that holds the Great Rays within It is also visible there along with the body, and this Spark cannot be limited long to littleness. Once you have made this transition, the value of the body is so diminished in your sight that you will see no need at all to magnify it. For you will realize that the only value that the body has, as Spirit sees it, is to enable you to bring your sisters and brothers to the Bridge with you, and to be released together there.

The transition to the Real World itself is nothing more than a shift in your perspective of Reality. In the world of illusions everything you perceive is grossly distorted, and completely out of perspective because of the way each thing is framed. What is little and insignificant is magnified, and what is strong and powerful is cut down to littleness. In the transition to the Real World there is a period of confusion, in which a sense of actual disorientation seems to occur. But fear it not, for it means nothing more than that you have been willing to let go your hold on your distorted frame of reference that seemed to hold your world together. This frame of reference has been built around the special relationship. Without this illusion there can be no meaning you would still seek here.

Fear not that you will be abruptly lifted up out of the world of illusions and hurled into Reality. Time is kind in Spirit’s Hands, and as you use it for Reality, it will keep gentle pace with you in your transition. The urgency is only in dislodging your mind from its fixed position in the world of illusions. This will not leave you without a home and without a frame of reference. The period of disorientation that precedes the actual transition is far shorter than the time it took to fix your mind so firmly on illusions. Delay will hurt you now more than before, only because you realize that it is delay, and that release from pain and misery is really possible. Therefore find hope and comfort rather than despair in your current situation.

You can no longer find the illusion of love in any special relationship here, for your orientation in life is becoming stable, and you now recognize the guilt of self-betrayal for what it is. You know now that nothing you seek to strengthen in the special relationship is really part of you. And you cannot keep part of the thought system that taught you the special relationship was real, and understand the Thought that really knows what you are. You have now allowed the Thought of your reality to enter your mind, and because you invited It, It abides with you. Your love for It will not allow you to betray yourself, and you could not enter into any relationship where Reality could not go with you, for you will not to be apart from It.

Be glad you have escaped the mockery of awakening that the ego offered you, and do not turn back with longing on the travesty it made of your relationships. Now no one need suffer, for you have come too far to yield to the illusion of the “beauty” and “holiness” of guilt. Only the entirely deluded could look on suffering, despair and heartbreak and believe that what they are perceiving is beauty, happiness and fulfillment. What guilt has wrought is discordant, frightening and grievous to those who believe themselves to be in it. Perceive no illusion of truth and beauty there. And be you thankful that there is a Place where Truth and Beauty wait for you.

Go forward to meet Truth and Beauty gladly, and learn how much awaits you for your simple willingness to give up nothingness because it is nothing. The new perspective you will gain from the transition to the Real World will be the understanding of where Heaven is. From this side, Heaven seems to be outside you, and across the Bridge from all perception. But as you cross to join It, It will join with you, and become One with you. And you will think, in glad astonishment, that for all this you gave up nothing! The Joy of Heaven, which has no limit, is increased with each Light that returns, to take Its rightful Place within It. Wait no longer, for the Love of the Divine and you. And may the Holy Instant speed you on the way, as It will surely do, if you simply let It come to you.

The Holy Spirit asks only this simple help of you:

 

Whenever your thoughts wander in fantasy to a special relationship that still attracts you, enter with Spirit into a Holy Instant, and there let It release you from the attraction and the fantasy. Spirit needs only your willingness to share Its Perspective to give It to you completely. And your willingness need not be complete, because Its is perfect. It is Spirit’s Task to atone for your unwillingness by Its perfect Faith. And it is Its Faith you share with It in the Holy Instant. Out of your recognition of your lack of total willingness for your Release, Its perfect Willingness is given you. Call upon It, for Heaven is at Its Call. And let It call on Heaven for you.
