Daily Lesson 163 ~
June 12

In truth there is only Life and no death. The Children of the Divine are free.

The thought of death takes many forms, often unrecognized. This thought in essence is that all things must come to an end. This idea may be expressed as sadness, fear, anxiety, or doubt; as anger, faithlessness, and lack of trust; or as concern for bodies, envy, and all expressions of the belief that you are what you are not—a perishable being. All such thoughts are merely reflections of the belief that a moment will come in the life of all things when they will cease to exist as they have before.

The thought of death seems mighty when it embodies fear, and becomes the host of unholiness, god of the guilty, and the lord of all illusions and deceptions. For the image of death seems to hold all living things within its withered hand, all hopes and wishes in its blighting grasp, all goals perceived in its sightless eyes. The frail, the helpless and the sick bow down before this image, thinking that death alone is inevitable and therefore worthy of their belief, for it alone will surely come. Everything else is subject to disappointment.

In this world all things but death seem to be unsure, too quickly lost however hard to gain, uncertain in their outcome, apt to fail the hopes they once engendered, and to leave the taste of despair in their wake in place of aspiration. Death alone is inevitable. For it will come with certain footsteps when the time has come for its arrival. It will never fail to take the life assigned to it. Is decline of life and release in death a world you would choose for yourself or others if another choice were given you?

Consider what the thought of death, extended to its logical outcome, must mean. Here is the Strength and Might of the Divine Itself overcome by an image made of dust. Here is the opposite of Life proclaimed as master of the universe, stronger than the Divine’s Will for Its Children—the Endlessness of Love and Heaven’s perfect, changeless Constancy. Here is the shared Will of Creator and Creation defeated in the end, and laid to rest beneath the headstone death has placed upon what was believed to be the holy Child of the Divine.

In succumbing to this most grandiose of illusions, this Child seems to have become what death would have It be. Its epitaph, written by death itself, leaves the Child nameless, for It has passed to dust and has no more need of a name. The headstone says only this: “Here lies a witness that what the Divine created has perished.” And this the belief in death writes again and still again, while all the while its believers agree, and, prostrating with foreheads to the ground, they whisper fearfully that it must be so.

It is impossible to believe death real in any form and still decide that there are some forms of death that you won’t accept as real. For death must apply universally if it be real at all. Either all living things must die, or else all created beings live forever and cannot die. No compromise is possible. For here again we see an obvious position that we must accept if we be sane. What contradicts the Thought of Life entirely cannot be true unless the Thought of Life Itself is proven false.

The idea of the death of the Divine or Its eternal Creations is so preposterous that even the insane have difficulty in believing it. For it implies that the Divine and Its Creations were once alive and somehow perished, killed, apparently, by something that did not want Them to live. It must be that the stronger will of this something can triumph over the Divine’s Will, and so eternal Life must give way to death. And so the Creator and Its Creation must come to an end.

Death’s believers must be afraid given the frightful implications of the idea they are sure is real and immutable. And yet can thoughts like these be fearful? When those who believe death to be inevitable see that it is only a mistaken idea that they had faith in, they will be instantly released. And you will show them this today.

Life is everywhere forever. There is no place where It is not. There is only Life and no death in Truth. The Children of the Divine are free of all that isn’t real. And we renounce the idea of death now in every form and expression, for the awakening of our sisters and brothers and our own as well. The Divine made not death. Whatever form or expression it takes must therefore be illusion. This is the stand we take today. And it is given us to see beyond death and behold the Life that is always there.

Our Creator, bless our eyes today. We are Your Messengers, and we would see the glorious Reflection of Your Love that shines in Everything. We live and love in You alone. We are not separate from Your eternal Life. In truth there is only Life and no death, for death is not Your Will. And we abide where You have placed us, in the Life we share with You and with all Your Children, to be like You and Part of You forever. We accept Your Thoughts as ours, and our will is One with Yours eternally. And so we are free. Amen.

Chapter 14: Reality and Release

4. The War Is Gone

You can only enter into real relationship with any of the Divine’s Children when you love them all, and equally. Love is not special. If you single out Part of the Divine Family for your love, and exclude this from others, you are imposing guilt on all your relationships, and making them all unreal. You can love only as the Divine loves. Seek not to love unlike the Divine, for there is no love apart from Its. Until you recognize that this is true, you will not know what Love is.

No one who condemns a brother or sister can see themself as innocent in the Peace of the Divine. Those who are innocent and in Peace, and yet do not see this, are delusional, and haven’t seen themselves. To such I say:

Behold the Children of the Divine, and see their Innocence, and be still. In Quiet behold their holiness, and offer thanks unto their Creator that no guilt has ever touched them.

No illusion that you have ever held against anyone has touched their Innocence in any way. Their shining Purity, wholly untouched by guilt, and wholly loving, is bright within you. Let us see our sisters and brothers together, and love them perfectly as our Creator loves us. For in our love of them is your Innocence remembered. Just behold yourself with the Vision of Divine Essence, and Gladness and Appreciation for what you see will banish guilt forever.

I thank You, Creator, for the Innocence of Your most holy Children, whom You have created perfect forever.

The Divine loves you. Could I, then, lack faith in you, and love our Creator perfectly? Like you, my faith and my belief are centered on what I treasure. The difference is that I love only what the Divine loves with me, and, because of this, I treasure you beyond the value that you currently set on yourself, even unto the Worth that the Divine has placed upon you. I love all that It created. And all my faith and my belief I offer unto It. My faith in you is as strong as all the Love I give my Creator. My trust in you is without limit, and without any fear that you will not hear me. I thank the Creator for your Loveliness, and for the many Gifts that you will let us offer to the Realm of Heaven together, in honor of Its Wholeness, which is of the Divine.

Forgetfulness and sleep and even death become the ego’s best advice for how to deal with the perceived and harsh intrusion of guilt on Peace. Yet no one perceives themself in conflict and ravaged by a cruel war unless they believe that both “opponents” in the war are real. Believing this, they must escape, for such a war, win or lose, would surely end their peace of mind, and so destroy them. But if they realize that the war is between real and unreal forces, then they can behold themself and see their freedom. No one finds themself ravaged and torn in endless battles that they themself perceive as entirely unreal and therefore without meaning.

The Divine would not have Its Children embattled, and so Its Children’s imagined “enemy,” which they made up, is entirely unreal and undone. You are merely trying to escape a bitter war from which you have escaped. The war is gone. For you have heard the Song of Freedom rising unto Heaven. Joy and Gratitude belong to the Divine for your Release, because It offered Freedom to you. But, as you made not Freedom, so you made not a real war that could endanger Freedom. Nothing destructive ever was or will be. The war, the guilt, the past, are gone as one, into the unreality from whence they came.

Praise be unto you who complete the Creator as One with Its Creation. When we believe we are alone the Light seems dim, but together we shine with Brightness so intense that none of us alone can even think on It. Guilt melts away before the glorious Radiance of the Realm, and transformed into kindness will never more be what it was. Every response that you experience will be so purified that it will be fitting as a Song of Praise unto your Creator. See and hear only Praise of It in what It has created, for It will never cease Its Praise of you. United in this Praise, we stand before the Gate of Heaven, wherein our Innocence we will surely enter.
