What Is the Atonement, or Divine Essence’s Second Coming? (Lessons 301-310)

The Divine’s perfect Creation is Divine Essence, and in It there is no “first” or “second,” just One. But in time it appears that that the Oneness of Divine Essence and Its Creator has been lost, and so it became necessary that Divine Essence “come again.” The Atonement, Which is the perfect Correction of all mistakes and the Return of Sanity, is the “Second Coming” of Divine Essence, and this Coming is as sure as the Divine Itself. It is the Condition that restores the never-lost, and reestablishes what is forever true. It is our invitation to the Divine’s Word of Truth and Love to take illusion’s place, and our willingness to let forgiveness rest upon all things without exception and without reserve.

It is the all-inclusive Nature of Divine Essence’s Atonement or Second Coming that permits It to embrace the world, and hold you safe within Its gentle Advent, which encompasses all created things with you. There is no end to the Release the Atonement brings, as the Divine’s Creation must be limitless. Forgiveness lights the Atonement’s Way because it shines on everything and everyone as One. And thus is Oneness recognized at last.

The Atonement is the completion of the Lessons that the Holy Spirit teaches, making way for the Final Judgment, in which learning ends in one last Summary that will extend beyond Itself and reach to the Divine. The Atonement is the time in which all minds are given to the Hands of Divine Essence, to be returned to Spirit in the Name of true creation and the Will of the Divine.

The Atonement is the one Event in time that time itself cannot affect. For everyone who ever came to the world to be born and to die, or who is present now, or yet will come, is equally released from what they made, and restored as creators in Eternity. In this Equality is Divine Essence restored as one Identity, in Which the Children of the Divine acknowledge that they all are One in the Divine Family. And the Divine, our Creator, smiles upon Its Children, Its one Creation and Its only Joy.

Pray that the Atonement will be completed soon in the realm of time, but do not rest with that. It needs your eyes and ears and hands and feet. It needs your voice. And most of all It needs your willingness. Let us rejoice that we can do the Divine’s Will, and join together in Its holy Light. Behold, the Children of the Divine are One in Divine Essence, and we can reach our Creator’s Love through It.

Creator, only if I judge can I weep, suffer pain, and feel abandoned and unneeded in the world. The Real World is my temporary home because I judge it not, and therefore is it only what You will.

I ask to be free of judgment of the world today. Let me today behold the world free of condemnation, through happy eyes forgiveness has released from all distortion. Let me see the Real World, which You gave me, instead of the world of illusions which I made up. And all the tears I shed will be forgotten, for their source will be gone.

 

The Real World, which the Divine gives, is filled with Peace and Joy. Those who behold it can only add their joy to it, and bless it as a cause of further Joy in them.

We wept because we did not understand. But we have learned that the world we looked upon was false, and so today we will see the Truth and behold the Real World.

2. True Will Is Freedom

Do you understand that to oppose the Holy Spirit is to fight yourself? Spirit speaks for you, and simply tells you your true will. In Its Holiness is your own. And all It knows is just your Knowledge, saved for you, that you may do your will through It. The Divine asks that your will be done. It joins with you. It establishes Its Realm along with you—in you, and you in It. And Heaven Itself represents your will at one with the Divine’s, where Everything created is for you.

Every Spark of Life was created with your glad consent, as you would have It be. And every Thought that the Divine has ever had received your blessing to come into Being. The Divine is no foe to you. It asks no more than that It hear you call It Friend.

How wonderful it is to do your true will! For that is Freedom. There is nothing else that ever should be called by Freedom’s Name. You are not free unless you do your will. And would the Divine leave Its Children without what they have chosen for themselves? The Divine ensured that you would never lose your true will when It gave you Its perfect Answer in the Holy Spirit. Hear Spirit now, that you may be reminded of the Divine’s Love, and learn your will.

The Divine would not have Its Children made prisoner to what they do not truly want. It joins with you in willing you be free. And to oppose It is to make a choice against yourself, and choose that you be bound.

Perceive again your foe—the one you chose to judge and reject instead of Love. For thus was judgment and rejection born into the world, and thus the rule of fear established here. Now hear the Divine speak to you through Spirit, Who is Its Voice and yours as well, reminding you that it is not your will to judge and be a prisoner to fear, bound to death, a petty creature with a little life. Your true will is boundless, so it is not your true will that your will be bound. The Power that is in you has joined with the Divine Itself in the coming into Being of all Creation. Remember Who has created you, and, joined with your will, created Everything.

Every created being gives you thanks, for it was by your will and theirs, in Union with your Creator’s, that all Creation came into Being, and is extended forever and forever without end. Every Light of Heaven shines because of you, for It was set in Heaven by your and the Divine’s Will as One. What cause have you for anger in a world that merely waits your blessing to be free? If you were prisoner, then the Divine Itself could not be free. For what is done to them whom the Divine so loves is done to the Divine Itself.

Think not that the Divine wills to bind you, Who has made you Cocreator of the Infinite and Eternal Universe along with It. Its Will is to keep your will forever and forever limitless. The world awaits the Freedom you will give when you have recognized that you are free. But you will not forgive the world until you have forgiven It Who gave your true will to you. For it is by your will the world is given Freedom. And you can only be free joined with It Whose holy Will you share.

The Divine turns to you to ask the world to be awakened, for by your own awakening is it healed. And everyone who walks upon the Earth must depend on your decision, that they learn that illusion has no power over them, because they share your Freedom as they share your will. It is your will to heal them, and because you have decided with them, they are healed. And now is the Divine forgiven and remembered, for you have chosen to see your sisters and brothers as friend.
