Chapter 21: Seeing Reality
5. The Heralds and Breath of Eternity
In this world the Divine’s Children come closest to themselves in a holy relationship. There they begin to find the Certainty their Creator has in them. And there they find their function of restoring their Creator’s Laws to what was believed to be outside of these Laws, and finding what was lost there. Only in time can anything be lost, but never lost forever. So do the Parts of the Divine Family gradually join in time, and with each joining is the end of time brought nearer. Each miracle of joining is thus a mighty Herald of Eternity.
Fear is meaningless to anyone who has a single Purpose, unified and sure. And anyone who shares such a Purpose with another must be One with them.
Each Herald of Eternity sings of the end of error and fear. Each speaks in time of what is far beyond time. Two voices, joined together, allow them to beat as One, and call to the hearts of everyone. And in that single heartbeat is the Unity of Love proclaimed and given welcome. Peace to your holy relationship, which has the Power to hold the Unity of the Children of the Divine together. You give to one another for everyone. And in your gift is everyone made glad. Remember Who has given you the Gifts you give. And through your remembering, will you also remember Who gave the Gifts to It to give to you.
It is impossible to overestimate the Value of your sisters and brothers. Only the ego does this, but all this means is that it wants the other for itself, and therefore values them too little. What is of inestimable Value clearly cannot be judged or possessed. Do you recognize the fear that rises from the meaningless attempt to judge what is so far beyond your judgment that you cannot even perceive It? Judge not what is invisible to you, or you will not be able to perceive It. Just wait in patience for Its coming. It will be given you to see the inestimable Value of your sisters and brothers when all you want for them is Peace. And what you want for them, you will receive.
How can you estimate the Worth of them who offer Peace to you? What would you want except their offering? Its Worth has been established forever by your Creator, and you will recognize It as you receive your Creator’s Gift through them. What is in them will shine so brightly in your grateful vision that you will merely love them and be glad. You will not even think to judge them, for who would see the Face of Divine Essence and still insist that judgment yet has meaning? For this insistence can only come of those who do not see. Vision or judgment is your choice, but never both of these.
Your sister’s and brother’s body is as little use to you in Eternity as it is to them. When it is used on the journey to Eternity only as the Holy Spirit teaches, its function is complete. For minds need not the body to communicate. Perception that perceives the body as important has no use that serves the purpose of a holy relationship. And while you perceive each other thus, the means and end of awakening have not yet been brought in line. Why should it take so many Holy Instants to let this one thing be accomplished, when one Instant would do? There is only one. The little Breath of Eternity that runs through time like golden Light is all the same. Nothing before It, and nothing afterward.
You have been perceiving each Holy Instant as if It were a different point in time, not realizing that It never changes, not being a point in time at all. All that It ever held or will ever hold is here right now. The past takes nothing from It, and the future will add nothing to It. Here, then, is Everything. Here is the loveliness of your relationship, with means and end in perfect Harmony already. Here already offered you is the perfect faith that you will one day offer to each other and to all your sisters and brothers. And here the limitless forgiveness you will give each other is already given, the Face of Divine Essence you yet will behold already seen.
Can you assess the giver of a Gift like this? Would you exchange this Gift for any other? This Gift returns the Laws of the Divine to your remembrance. And merely by remembering the Divine’s Laws, the laws that held you prisoner to pain and death must be relinquished and forgotten. This is no gift your brother’s or sister’s body offers you. The veil that hides the Gift hides their Essence from your body’s eyes as well. They are the Gift, and yet they know it not. Neither do you. And yet have faith that It Who sees the Gift in both of you will offer and receive It for you both. And through Its Vision will you see It, and through Its Understanding you will recognize It, and love It as your own.
Be comforted, and feel the Holy Spirit watching over you in Love and perfect Confidence in what It sees. It knows the Children of the Divine, and shares our Creator’s Certainty that the Universe rests in their gentle hands in Safety and in Peace. Let us consider now what we must learn to share our Creator’s Confidence in them. What are our sisters and brothers that the Creator of the Universe should offer It to them, and know It rests in Safety? They do not yet perceive themselves as their Creator knows them. And yet it is certain that the Confidence of the Divine is placed correctly.
