Lesson 191. I am a holy Child of the Divine Itself.
In silence and with true humbleness I seek the Divine’s Glory, to behold it in the Child whom It created as my Self.

1. The Obstacles to Peace
Your perception is healed in the Holy Instant that Heaven gives you. Forget what you looked upon in the past, and raise your eyes, in faith, to what you now can see. The barriers to Heaven will disappear before your holy sight. For you who were sightless have been given vision, and you can see! Seek not for the past that has been removed, but for the Glory that has been restored to you by your healed perception.
Behold your Awakener in the holy relationship and see in each other what each would show the other. And let not the belief in sin arise again to blind your eyes. For sin would keep you separate, but your Awakener would have you see each other as yourself. Your relationship is now a temple of healing, a place where all the weary ones can come and find Rest. Here is the Rest that waits for all along the journey. And It is brought nearer to all by your holy relationship.
As this Peace expands from deep inside yourself to embrace all the Divine Family and give It Rest, It will encounter many obstacles. Some of them you will try to impose. Others will seem to arise from elsewhere: from your sisters and brothers, and from various aspects of the world perceived to be outside you. But Peace will gently cover them, extending beyond, completely unhindered.
The Extension of the Holy Spirit’s Purpose from your relationship to others, to bring them gently in to Peace, has already begun. This is the Way in which Spirit will align means and goal. The Peace It placed deep within each of you will quietly extend to every aspect of your lives, surrounding each of you with glowing Happiness, and the calm awareness of complete Protection. And you will carry Its Message of Love and Safety and Freedom to everyone who draws near you and to the Altar of the Divine within each, where healing waits for all.
You will not hesitate to give your sisters and brothers this gift. For you will call to them and they will answer, recognizing in your call the Call of the Divine. And you will draw them in and give them Rest, as they will you, as It was given each to share. All this will you do in the holy relationship. But the Peace that already rests deeply within must first expand and flow across the obstacles that seem to be placed before It. This It will do, for everything undertaken with the Holy Spirit becomes completed. You can be sure of nothing you look upon outside you, but of Spirit you can indeed be sure.
The Holy Spirit asks that you offer It a resting place where you will rest in It. It answered you and entered your relationship. Would you not now return Its Graciousness, and enter into a Relationship with It? For it is Spirit Who offered your relationship with each other the Gift of Holiness, without which it would have been forever impossible to truly appreciate each other. The gratitude that you naturally feel and want to give It asks only that you receive for It. And when you see each other with gentle graciousness, you are beholding It. For you are seeing Spirit where It is, and not apart from yourself.
You cannot perceive the Holy Spirit, but you can perceive your sisters and brothers truly. And the Light in them will show you all that you need in order to see. When the Peace in you has been extended to encompass everyone, the Holy Spirit’s Function here will be accomplished in you. What need will there then be for seeing? When the Divine has taken the Final Step Itself, the Holy Spirit will gather all your thanks and gratitude that you have offered It, and lay them gently before our Creator, in the Name of Its most holy Child who is you. And the Creator will accept them in Its Name. What need is there of seeing in the Presence of the Divine’s Gratitude?
