What Am I?

Lesson 351: My innocent sisters and brothers are my guides to Peace. My guilty sisters and brothers are my guides to pain. And which I choose to perceive I will perceive.

What Am I? (Lessons 351-360)

I am the Divine’s Child, complete and healed and whole, shining in the Reflection of Its Love. In me is Its Creation sanctified and guaranteed eternal Life. In me is Love perfected, fear impossible, and Joy established without opposite. I am the holy Home of the Divine Itself. I am the Heaven where Its Love resides. I am Its holy Innocence Itself, for in my Purity abides Its Own.

 

Our use for words is almost over now. Yet in the final days of this holy time we have given to the Divine together, you and I, we found a single Purpose that we shared. And thus you joined with me, so what I am are you as well. The Truth of what we are is not for words to speak of nor attempt to describe. Yet we can realize our function here, and words can speak of this and teach It, too, if we exemplify the words in us.

We are the bringers of awakening. We accept our part as awakeners of the world, which through our shared forgiveness is released from all illusions. And this, our Gift, is therefore given us. We see everyone as sisters and brothers, and perceive all things in their reality and truth as kindly and as good. We do not seek a function that is beyond the Gate of Heaven. Knowledge will return to us when we have done our part. We are concerned only with giving welcome to the Truth.

Ours are the eyes through which the Vision of Divine Essence sees a world liberated from every thought of error and of separation. Ours are the ears that hear the Voice of the Divine proclaim the world perfect Love touches as holy. Ours the minds that join together as we bless the world. And from the Oneness that we have embraced again we call to all our sisters and brothers, asking them to share our Peace and consummate our Joy.

We are the holy Messengers of the Divine who speak for It, and carrying Its Word of Truth and Love – the Atonement – to everyone whom It has sent to us, we learn that It is written on our hearts. And thus our minds are changed about the aim for which we came to the world, and which we seek to serve. We bring glad tidings to the Children of the Divine who thought they suffered. Now are they awakened. And as they see the Gate of Heaven stand open before them, they will enter in and disappear into the Heart of the Divine.

My innocent sisters and brothers are my guides to Peace. My guilty sisters and brothers are my guides to pain. And which I choose to perceive I will perceive.

 

Who are my sisters and brothers but Your holy Children, Creator? And if I perceive them as separate, flawed or guilty, I proclaim myself the same, a forgotten Child of the Divine, alone and friendless in a fearful world.

Yet this perception is a choice I make, and can relinquish. I can also perceive my sisters and brothers innocent—Your holy Children. And with this choice I see my Innocence, my everlasting Comforter and Friend beside me, and my Way secure and clear.

Choose, then, for me, my Creator, through Your Voice. For It alone gives true Guidance in Your Name.

3. Is Each One to Be Judged in the End?

Indeed, yes! Who could forever avoid or flee from the Truth? Everyone will experience the Divine’s Final Judgment, as this Course has described. This is the culmination of the final Evaluation that each one will engage in, with Spirit’s Help, of all of their creative activity in this world, to determine what of this activity is worthy to be in Eternity. But the Divine’s Final Judgment will come only when it is no longer associated with fear. One day each one will welcome It, and on that very day It will be given them. They will hear their Innocence proclaimed around and around the world, setting it free as the Divine’s Final Judgment on them is received.

The Divine’s Judgment is Final not just because It will be the last thing you hear in this world as you go through the Gate of Heaven and return to your Home and your Place in the Divine Family. It is also Final because It is Irrevocable, as true now as It was at your creation and as It will be for all Eternity. This is the Judgment in which awakening is found. This is the Judgment that will set each one free. This is the Judgment in which all things are freed with everyone. Time pauses as Eternity comes near, and Silence rests across the world, so that everyone may hear this Final Judgment of the Children of the Divine:

 

“Holy are you, eternal, free and whole, at Peace forever in the Heart of the Divine.

Where is the world, and where is sorrow now?”

 

Is this your judgment on yourself, Teacher of the Divine? Do you believe that this is wholly true? No, not yet, not yet. But this is still your Goal. It is why each one is here. It is your function to prepare yourself to hear this Final Judgment and to recognize that It is true. One Instant of complete belief in this, and you will go beyond belief to Certainty. One Instant out of time can bring time’s end. Judge not, for you can merely judge yourself amiss and thus delay the Divine’s Final Judgment.

What is your judgment on the world, Teacher of the Divine? Have you learned yet to stand aside and hear the Voice of the Divine proclaim the Divine’s Final Judgment in yourself? Or do you still attempt to take Spirit’s Role from It? Learn to be quiet, for the Divine’s Voice is heard in stillness. And Its true Evaluation of all creative activity of each Child of the Divine in this world comes to all who stand aside in quiet listening, and wait for It. When this is complete the Divine’s Final Judgment will be received with Joy.

You who are sometimes sad and sometimes angry, who sometimes feel your just due is not given you, and that your best efforts are met with lack of appreciation and even with contempt, give up these foolish thoughts. They are too small and meaningless to occupy your holy mind an instant longer. The Divine’s Final Judgment waits for you to set you free. What can the world hold out to you, regardless of your judgments on its gifts, that you would rather have?

All of your creative activity will be truly evaluated by you with Spirit’s Help, and evaluated in Fairness and in Honesty. There is no deceit in the Divine or in Its Holy Spirit. And the Divine’s Final Judgment will rest on you. The Divine’s Promises are sure. Only remember that. Its Promises have guaranteed that Its Final Judgment, and Its alone, will be accepted in the End. It is your function to make that End be soon. It is your function to hold It in your heart, and offer It to all the world to keep It safe.
