Chapter 1: The Plan of the Teachers

1. Who Are the Teachers of the Divine?

A Teacher of the Divine is anyone who chooses to be one. Their qualification consists solely in this: somehow, somewhere they have made a deliberate choice in which they did not perceive their own interests as apart from someone else’s. Once they have done that, their Path is established and their Direction is sure. Light has entered the darkness. It may be a single light to begin with, but that is enough. The person has entered an Agreement with the Divine, even if they do not yet believe in It. They have become a bringer of awakening. They have become a Teacher of the Divine.

The Divine’s Teachers come from all over the world. They come from all perspectives and faiths, all religions and no religion. They are the ones who have answered the Call to awaken from the world of illusions.

The Call to awaken is universal. It goes on all the time everywhere. It calls for teachers to speak for It, to demonstrate and therefore teach It, and thus to awaken themselves and the world. Many hear It but relatively few seem to answer. Yet it is all a matter of time. Everyone will answer the Call by the end, because the last one to answer will signify the End. But the End can seem to be a long way off. It is because of this that the Plan of the Teachers was established. The function of this Plan is to save time. Each Teacher of the Divine begins as a single light, but with the Call at its center it is a light that cannot be limited. And each one saves a thousand years of time as the world judges it. To the Call Itself time has no meaning.

There is a specific course of instruction in awakening that is provided by the Holy Spirit for every Teacher of the Divine. The forms of these courses vary greatly. So do the particular teaching aids involved. But the essential content of every course in awakening is the same and never changes. Its central theme is always:

“The Divine’s Children are guiltless, and in remembering their Innocence is their awakening.”

This central theme can be taught by actions or thoughts, in words or soundlessly, in any language or in no language, and in any place or time or manner. It does not matter who the teacher was before they heard the Call. They have become an awakener by their answering. They have seen someone else as themself. They have therefore found their own awakening and the awakening of the world. In their rebirth is the world born anew.

This is a Manual for a specific course of instruction in awakening, intended for teachers of a specific form of the universal Curriculum of awakening. There are very many other forms, all with the same Outcome. They merely save time. Yet it is time alone that winds on wearily, and the world is very tired now. It is old and worn and seems to be without hope. There was never a question of Outcome, for what can change the Will of the Creator? But the misuse of time, with its resulting illusions of chaos, decay and death, appears to wear out the world and all things in it. Yet time has an appointed ending, and it is this that the Divine’s Teachers are appointed to bring about. For time is in their hands to use miraculously. Such is their choice, and it is given them to fulfill.
