Daily Lesson 256 ~
September 13

Awakening is the only goal I have today.

What are separation and sin?

The Way to the Divine is through forgiveness here. This is the only Way. If the belief in separation and sin had not been cherished by the mind, what need would there have been to find the way to where we are? Who would be uncertain? Who could be unsure of who they are? And who would yet remain asleep in heavy clouds of doubt about the holiness of those whom the Divine created perfect?

Apart from our true Home we can only dream. But we can dream that we have forgiven them in whom all separation and sin remain impossible, and it is this we choose to dream today. Returning to the Divine is our Goal. Forgiveness is the Means by which our minds return to It at last.

And so, our Creator, would we come to You in Your appointed Way. We have no goal except to hear Your Voice, and find the Way Your sacred Word has pointed out to us.

Chapter 26: Divine Justice

1. Manifestation and Oneness

Divine Essence in you inhabits not a body. Yet It is in you. And thus must it be that you are not within a body. What is within you in its entirety cannot simultaneously be outside you. And it is certain that you cannot be apart from what is at the very center of your life. What gives you Life cannot be housed in what will seem to die. Nor can you. Divine Essence resides within a Frame of Holiness whose only Purpose is that the Divine’s perfect Creation may be made manifest to those who have forgotten It, that It may call to them to come to It, and see It where they thought their bodies were. Then will their bodies be perceived truly, that they may frame Divine Essence’s Holiness in them.

All Children of the Divine carry Divine Essence in themselves, and so everyone will succeed in recognizing It everywhere, except in bodies or forms mistakenly perceived as such. And as long as someone believes that the body is their home, and that of their sisters and brothers, Divine Essence cannot be where they think they are. And so they will carry It unknowingly, and not make It manifest. And thus will they not recognize It where It is, nor where they are in truth.

The body is not what arose in the Resurrection from the world of the dead. Yet does each Child of the Divine abide exactly where the Risen One of the Resurrection is, and walks with It within Its Holiness, as plain to behold as the ego’s desire for specialness set forth within the body’s frame and form seems plain to look upon.

The body needs no healing, for it is but a symptom of sick or healed thoughts. But the mind that thinks it is a body is sick indeed! And it is here that Divine Essence sets forth Its Remedy. Its Purpose folds the body in Its Light, and fills it with the Holiness that shines from It. And then everything that the body says or does manifests Divine Essence. Now the body carries Divine Essence, in Gentleness and Love, to those who know It not, to heal their minds. Such is the Mission that your sisters and brothers have for you. And such it must be that your Mission is for them.

It cannot be difficult to do the Task that Divine Essence appointed you to do, since it is It that does It when invited to do so. And in the doing of It will you learn that the body merely seems to be the means to do It. For the One Mind is Divine Essence’s. And so It must be yours. Its Holiness directs the body through the mind at One with It. And so you can be seen by your holy sisters and brothers, as they can be seen by you. Here is the Meeting of the holy Divine Essence unto Itself, where no differences are perceived standing between the Aspects of Its Holiness, the Divine Children who meet and join and allow Divine Essence to raise them to Its Creator, whole and pure, and worthy of Its Everlasting Love.

How can you manifest Divine Essence in you, except you behold Holiness where the body seemed to be, and see Divine Essence there? Perception tells you that you are manifest in what you perceive. Perceive the body, and you will believe that you are there. And each body that you look upon reminds you of your former beliefs about yourself—of flaw, guilt, and, above all, the perishable. And that which conveys such messages to the mind is secretly despised, and its demise is sought. Perception’s message and the messenger that sent it are one. And therefore you must perceive your sisters and brothers as yourself. If your perception of them is framed in their bodies, then you will look upon your own belief in unworthiness, wherein you stand condemned in your own eyes. If your perception of them is set in their holiness, then Divine Essence in them proclaims Itself as you.

Perception is a choice of what you want yourself to be, the world you want to live in, and the state in which you think your mind will be content and satisfied. Perception chooses by your decision where you think your safety is. It reveals you to yourself as you would have yourself be. It is always faithful to your intention, from which it never separates. Nor does it give the slightest witness to anything the intention in your mind doesn’t uphold. Perception is therefore a part of what it is your intention to perceive, for means and end are never separate. And thus will you learn that what seems to have a life apart from your intention has none.

You are the Means of the Divine, not separate nor with a life apart from Its. Its Life is manifest in you who are Its Child. Each Aspect of Itself manifest in this world is framed in Holiness and perfect Purity, in Love Celestial so abundant that these Aspects desire only that They may release unto Their sisters and brothers and the world all that They behold. Creation’s Radiance therefore shines through each body They behold, and brushes all its darkness into Light merely by seeing beyond it to the Light. The veil is lifted through Light’s Gentleness, and nothing then hides the Face of Divine Essence from Its beholders. And you and your sisters and brothers stand there before It now, to let It draw aside the veil that seems to keep you separate and apart.

Since you still believe that you are separate and apart, Heaven gently presents Itself to you as if It were, too. Not that this is the Truth, but that the Link that has been given you to join the Truth may reach to you through what you are currently able to comprehend. Creator and Creation and Holy Spirit are One, just as all your sisters and brothers and you join as One in Truth. Divine Essence and Its Creator never have been separate, and Divine Essence abides within your true Understanding, in the part of you that shares Its Creator’s Will. The Holy Spirit links the other part of you – the tiny, mad desire to be separate and special – to Divine Essence, to make Oneness clear to what really is One. In this world this is not understood, but it can be taught and learned.

The Holy Spirit serves Divine Essence’s Purpose in your mind, so that the aim of specialness can be corrected where the error lies. Because Spirit’s Purpose still is One with both the Creator and Its Creation, It knows the Will of the Divine as well as what you really will. And this is understood by mind perceived as One, aware that it is One, and so experienced. It is the Holy Spirit’s Function to teach you how this Oneness is experienced, what you must do that it can be experienced, and where you should be to experience it. All of this takes note of time and place as if they were discrete, for while you think that part of you is separate, the concept of a Oneness joined as One is meaningless to you.

It is apparent that a split mind could never be the teacher of the Oneness that unites all things within Itself. And so what is within this mind, and does unite all things together, must be this mind’s Teacher. Yet must It use the language that this mind can understand in the condition in which it thinks it is. And It must use all learning to transfer illusions to the Truth, taking all false ideas of what you are, and leading you beyond them to the Truth that is beyond them. All of this can very simply be summarized as this:

What is One cannot have separate parts; what is the same must forever be the same; and what is different cannot be the same, and therefore cannot be.
