Chapter 12: The Holy Spirit’s Course of Instruction

8. Perceiving the Real Elements in All Situations

The ego’s goal is to teach you how to gain the entire world but lose your own soul (your spirit) in so doing. The Holy Spirit teaches that you cannot lose your spirit, and that there is no gain in the world, for of itself it profits nothing. To invest in something that doesn’t profit or benefit you is surely to deplete yourself, and the overhead of such an endeavor is high. Not only is there no profit in the investment in a world of illusion, but the cost of this investment is enormous. For this investment costs you awareness of the world’s reality by denying yours, and gives you nothing in return. You cannot sell your soul, or trade it in a “deal with the devil,” but you can temporarily throw away your awareness of your spirit.

While you cannot look upon the spirit, you will not be able to know it while you conceive anything else as more valuable. The Holy Spirit is your Strength because It sees only your spirit as you. It is perfectly aware that currently you do not know yourself, and perfectly aware of how to teach you to remember what you are. Because Spirit loves you, It will gladly teach you what It loves, for It wills to share It. Remembering always who you truly are, It cannot let you forget your Worth. For the Divine never ceases to remind Spirit of Its Children, and Spirit never ceases to remind the Divine’s Children of their Creator. The Divine is in your memory because of the Holy Spirit.

You chose to forget your Creator, but you did not will to do so. And therefore you can decide otherwise. As this was my decision, so it will be yours. You do not want the world. The only thing of value in it is whatever part of it you perceive with Love. This true perception gives the world the only reality it will ever have. The world’s value is not in itself, but yours is in yourself. As Self-Value comes from Extension of the holy Self, so does the knowing of Self-Value come from the true Projection of loving Thoughts from the Center into all Parts.

Perceive the world truly so that it becomes real to you, for the Real World is the Gift of the Holy Spirit, and so it belongs to you. Correction is for all who cannot yet see. To open the eyes of the blind is the Holy Spirit’s Mission, for It knows that they have not lost their vision, but merely sleep. It would awaken them from the sleep of forgetting to the Remembering of the Divine. The Vision of Divine Essence is awakening, and whatever you perceive with Love Divine Essence beholds through you, as you behold through Divine Essence if you accept Its Vision as yours.

The Holy Spirit holds the Vision of Divine Essence for every Child of the Divine who sleeps. In Spirit’s Sight the Children of the Divine are perfect, and It longs to share Its Vision with you. It will show you the Real World, because the Divine gave you Heaven and so gave you Heaven’s Reflection as the Real World. Through Spirit, your Creator calls Its Children to remember. The awakening of Its Children begins with their investment in the real world, and by this they will learn to reinvest in themselves. For Reality is One with the Creator and the Creation, and the Holy Spirit blesses the Real World in Their Name.

When you have seen the Real World, as you will surely do, you will remember the Creator and Its Creation. But you must learn the cost of sleeping and refuse to pay it. Only then will you decide to awaken. And then the Real World will spring to your sight, for Divine Essence has never slept. It is waiting to be seen, for It has never lost sight of you. It beholds the Real World quietly, which It would share with you because It knows of the Creator’s Love for It. And knowing this, It would give you what is yours. In perfect Peace, Divine Essence waits for you at Its Creator’s Altar, extending Its Love to you in the quiet Light of the Holy Spirit’s Blessing. For the Holy Spirit will lead everyone Home to their Creator, where Divine Essence waits as their holy Self. Every Child of the Divine is One in Divine Essence, for their Being is in Divine Essence, as Divine Essence is in the Divine. Divine Essence’s Love for you is Its Love for Its Creator, which It knows because It knows Its Creator’s Love for It. When the Holy Spirit has at last led you to Divine Essence, at the Altar to Its Creator, perception transfers into Knowledge, because perception has become so holy that its transfer to Holiness is merely its natural extension.

Love transfers to Love without any interference, for the situations are identical. Only the ability to make this transfer is the product of learning. As you perceive more and more shared true or real elements in all situations, the transfer of your training under the Holy Spirit’s Guidance increases and becomes generalized. Gradually you learn to apply it to everyone and everything, because its applicability is universal. When this has been accomplished, perception and Knowledge have become so similar that they share the Unification of the Laws of the Divine. What is One cannot be perceived as separate, and the true denial of the separation to have any real effects, when complete, is the Reinstatement of Knowledge.

At the Altar of the Divine, the holy perception of the Divine’s Children becomes so enlightened that Light streams into it, and the spirit of the Divine’s Children shines in the Mind of the Creator, joining in Oneness with It again. Very gently does the Divine shine upon Itself, loving the Extension of Itself that is Its Creation. The world has no purpose as it blends into the Purpose of the Divine. For the Real World has slipped quietly into Heaven, where everything eternal has always been. There, the Awakener and the awakened join in the perfect Love of the Divine, and of each other. Heaven is your Home, and being in the Divine It must also be in you.
