Let me be still and listen to the Truth.

If you will lay aside the ego’s voice, however loudly it may seem to call; if you will decline its petty gifts which offer you nothing that you really want; if you will listen with an open mind that has not already told you its idea of what awakening is: then you will hear the mighty Voice of Truth, quiet in Power, strong in Stillness, and completely certain in Its Messages. Listen, and hear your Creator speak to you through Its appointed Voice, Which silences the thunder of the meaningless, and shows the Way to Peace to those who don’t yet see.

Be still today and listen to the Truth. Be not deceived by voices of the dead that tell you they have found the Source of Life, and offer death as life to you for your belief. Attend them not, but listen to the Truth. Be not afraid today to circumvent the voices of the world. Walk lightly past their meaningless chatter and attempts at persuasion. Hear them not.

Be still today and listen to the Truth. Go past all things that do not speak of It Who holds your Peace and Happiness within Its Hands, held out to you in Welcome and in Love. Hear only Spirit today, and do not wait longer to reach It. Hear one Voice today.

Today the Promise of the Divine’s Word is kept. Be silent and hear. The Divine’s Word would speak to you. It comes with miracles a thousand times as happy and as wonderful as what you ever dreamed, or wished for in your dreams. Its miracles are true. They will not fade when dreaming ends. They end the dream instead, and therefore lead to what lasts forever, for they come from the Divine to Its dear Child, who you are. Prepare yourself for miracles today. Today allow your Creator’s ancient Promise to you and all your sisters and brothers to be kept.

Hear Spirit today, and listen to the Word of Truth and Love that lifts the veil that lies upon the Earth, and awakens all those who sleep and don’t yet see. The Divine calls to them through you. It needs your voice to speak to them, for who could reach the Divine’s Children except their Creator calling through your holy Self?

Hear Truth today and offer It your voice to speak to the many who wait to hear the Word that It will speak today. Be ready for awakening. It is here, and today will be given unto you. And you will learn your function here from the One Who accepted It for you in your Creator’s Name.

Listen today and you will hear a Voice that will resound throughout the world through you. The Bringer of all miracles has need that you receive them first, and thus become the joyous giver of what you have received. Thus does awakening start and thus it ends. When Everything has been accepted as yours and extended to everyone, It will remain with you forever. And awakening’s Lesson will have been learned.

Today we practice giving, not the way you have conceived it but as it is. The hourly five-minute practice periods should begin with this request for your enlightenment:

“I will be still and listen to the Truth.

What does it mean to give and to receive?”

Ask and wait expectantly with open mind for an answer. Your request is one whose Answer has been waiting long to be received by you. This Answer will begin the unique function in Atonement for which you came, and that will free the world from the belief that giving is a way to lose. And so the world becomes ready to understand and to receive.

Be still and listen to the Truth today. For each five minutes spent in listening, a thousand minds are opened to the Truth, and they will hear the holy Word you hear. And when the hour is past, you will again release a thousand more minds who pause to ask that Truth be given them, along with you.

Today the holy Word of the Divine is kept through your receiving It to give away, so you can teach the world what giving means by listening and learning it of Truth.

Remember today to reinforce your choice to hear and to receive the Word of Truth and Love by this reminder, given to yourself as often as is possible today:

“Let me be still and listen to the Truth.

I am the messenger of the Divine today.

My voice is Its, to give as I receive.”

Chapter 7: Healing and the Realm of Heaven Within

 

8. The Inheritance of Self-Fullness

Only you can limit your creative Power, but the Divine wills to release It. The Divine no more wills you to deprive yourself of your creations than It wills to deprive Itself of Its. Do not withhold your gifts to the Divine Family or you will withhold yourself from the Divine.

Selfishness is of the ego, but Self-Fullness is of the spirit because that is how the Divine created it. The Holy Spirit is the Part of the mind that is between the ego and the spirit, mediating between them always in favor of the spirit. To the ego this is partiality, and it therefore responds as if it were the part that is being sided against. To the spirit this mediating is Truth, because it knows its own Fullness and cannot conceive of any Part of Reality from which it is excluded. The spirit knows that the consciousness of all its sisters and brothers is included in its own, as it is included in the Divine. The Power of the whole Divine Family and of Its Creator is therefore spirit’s own Fullness, rendering its creation by the Divine and its own creating equally Whole and equal in Perfection.

The ego cannot prevail against a Totality that includes the Divine, and any Totality must include the Divine. Everything the Divine created is given all Its Power because It is Part of the Divine and the Divine shares Its Being with It. Creating is the opposite of loss, as blessing is the opposite of sacrifice. Being must be extended. That is how it retains the Knowledge of Its Self. The spirit yearns to share its being as its Creator shares Its. Created by sharing, the spirit’s will is to create, which is to share. It does not wish to contain the Divine, but to extend the Divine’s Being.

The Extension of the Divine’s Being is the spirit’s only Function in Eternity. The spirit’s Fullness cannot be contained any more than can the Fullness of its Creator. Fullness is Extension. The ego’s entire thought system attempts to block Extension, and therefore to block your only Function. It therefore blocks your Joy, and this is why you perceive yourself as unfulfilled. Unless you create and know your creations, you are unfulfilled. But the Divine does not know unfulfillment, and therefore you must create. You may not as yet remember and therefore know your own creations, but this can no more interfere with their reality than your unawareness of your spirit can interfere with its being.

The Realm of Heaven is forever extending because It is in the Mind of the Divine. You temporarily do not know your Peace and Joy because you have forgotten your own Self-Fullness. Exclude any Part of the Realm from yourself and you will experience yourself as not whole. A split mind cannot perceive its Fullness, and needs the miracle of its Wholeness to dawn upon it and heal it. This awakens its Wholeness in it and restores it to the Realm because of its acceptance of Wholeness. The full appreciation of its Self-Fullness makes selfishness impossible and Extension inevitable. That is why there is perfect Peace in the Realm. Every spirit is fulfilling its Function, and only complete Fulfillment is Peace.

Insanity appears to add something to the world, but no one would claim that what it adds is true. Insanity is therefore the non-extension of Truth, which blocks Joy because it blocks creation and therefore blocks self-fulfillment. The unfulfilled must be depressed because their Self-Fullness is unknown to them. Your creations are protected for you because the Holy Spirit, Who is in your mind, knows them, and can bring them into your awareness whenever you will let It. They are there as part of your own being because your Fulfillment includes them. The creations of every Child of the Divine are yours because every creation belongs to everyone, being created for the Divine Family as a whole.

You have succeeded in adding to the Inheritance of the Children of the Divine, and thus have succeeded in securing It for yourself. If it was the Will of the Divine to give this Inheritance to you, and I assure you it was, then the Divine gave It forever. If it was the Divine’s Will that you have this Inheritance forever, It gave you the Means for keeping It, and you have done so. Countering the Divine’s Will is meaningful only to the insane. In Truth, it is impossible.

Your Self-Fullness is as boundless as the Divine’s. Like the Divine’s, It extends forever and in perfect Peace. Its Radiance is so intense that It creates in perfect Joy, and only the Whole can be created of Its Wholeness. Be confident that you have never lost your Identity or the Extension that maintains It in Wholeness, Peace and Joy. Miracles are an expression of this confidence. They are reflections both of your own proper identification with your sisters and brothers, and of your own awareness that your Identification is maintained by Extension. The miracle is a lesson in total perception. By including any part of Totality in the lesson, you have included the Whole.
