I will accept my part in the Divine’s Plan of Awakening.

Today is a day of special dedication. We take a stand on only one side today. We side with the Truth and let illusions go. We will not vacillate between the two, but take a firm position with the One. We dedicate ourselves to Truth today, and to awakening as the Divine planned it be. We will not argue that it is something else. We will not seek for it where it is not. In gladness we accept awakening as it is, and take the part assigned to us by the Divine.

How happy to be certain! All our doubts we lay aside today, and take our stand with certainty of purpose, and with thanks that doubt is gone and surety has come. We have a mighty purpose to fulfill, and have been given everything we need with which to reach the goal. Not one mistake stands in our way. For we have been absolved of errors. All our “sins” are washed away by realizing that they were merely mistakes.

The guiltless have no fear, for they are safe and recognize their safety. They do not appeal to fantasy or magic thoughts, or invent escapes from fancied threats without reality. They rest in quiet certainty that they will do what it is given them to do. They do not doubt their own ability, because they know their true function on Earth will be filled completely, in the perfect time and place. All who came before us who beheld their innocence took the stand that we will take today, that we may share their certainty, and thus increase it by accepting it ourselves.

They will be with us today. All who took the stand we take today will gladly offer us all that they learned and every gain they made. Those still uncertain, too, will join with us, and borrowing our certainty will make it stronger still. While those as yet unborn will hear the Call we heard, and answer It, when they have come to make their choice again. We therefore choose today for ourselves and for all our sisters and brothers.

How priceless is five minutes of your time each waking hour to be able to accept the Happiness that the Divine has given you. Of what great worth are five minutes hourly to recognize your true function here! What a small request is five minutes of the hour in terms of a Reward so great It has no measure. Here is a Gift guaranteeing full release from pain of every kind and Joy the world does not contain, to replace the countless losing “bargains” each person here has made in their attempts to find their way. How joyous it is that you can exchange a little of your time for peace of mind and certainty of purpose, with the promise of complete success. And since time has no meaning, you are being asked for nothing in return for Everything. Here is an exchange through which you can only gain. And what you gain is limitless indeed!

Each hour today give Spirit your tiny gift of five minutes, or as many of these five minutes as you can any given hour. Spirit will give the words you use in practicing today’s idea the deep conviction and the certainty you lack. Its Words will join with yours, and make each practice of today’s idea a total dedication, given in faith as perfect and as sure as Its Faith in you. Its Confidence in you will bring the Light to all the words you say, and you will go beyond their sound to what they really mean.

Today you practice with Spirit as you say:

“I will accept my part in the Divine’s Plan of Awakening.”

In each of the minutes that you spend with Spirit each hour, It will accept your words and give them back to you all bright with faith and confidence so strong and steady that they will light the world with hope and gladness. Do not lose one chance to be the glad receiver of Spirit’s Gifts, that you may give Them to the world today.

Give Spirit the words and It will do the rest. It will enable you to understand your unique function in the Plan of Awakening. It will open up the Way to Happiness, and Peace and Trust will be Its Gifts, Its Answer to your words. It will respond with all Its Faith and Joy and Certainty that what you say is true. And you will have Conviction then of It Who knows the function that you have on Earth as well as the Function you have in Heaven. It will be with you each practice period you share with It, exchanging every instant of the time you offer It for Timelessness and Peace.

Throughout the hour let your time be spent in happy readiness for the next five minutes you will have again with Spirit. Repeat today’s idea while you wait for the glad time to come to you again. Repeat it often, and remember that each time you do so, you have let your mind be readied for the happy time to come. And when the hour is complete and Spirit is there once more to spend a little time with you that you are ready to spend with It, be thankful, and lay aside all earthly tasks, all little thoughts and limited ideas, and spend a happy time again with It. Confirm once again that you accept the part that the Divine would have you take, and that Spirit will help you fill. Spirit will help you be sure you want this choice, which It has made with you, and you with It.

5. The Final Step in the Transfer

The Creative Power of both the Divine and Its Creations is limitless, but It is not in reciprocal relationship. You do communicate fully with the Divine, as It does with you. This is a continuous, ongoing, and eternal Process you share, and because you share It, you are inspired to create like the Divine. But in Creation you are not in a reciprocal relation to the Divine, because It created you, but you did not create It. This Course has already stated that only in this respect your creative Power differs from the Divine’s. Even in this world there is a parallel. Parents give birth to their children, but children do not give birth to their parents. These children may, however, give birth to their children, and thus give birth as their parents did.

If the Divine created you and you were also to create the Divine, then the Realm of Heaven could not increase through Its Own creative Thought. Creation would then be limited, and you would not be Cocreators with the Divine. As the Divine’s creative Thought proceeds from It to all Its Children, so must your creative thoughts proceed from you to your creations. In this way only can all creative Power extend Everywhere.

The Divine’s Accomplishments are not your Accomplishments, though you are blessed by Them as all of the Divine Family is blessed by yours. Thus yours are like the Divine’s. It created the Divine Family, and you increase the Divine Family. You have the Power to add to the Realm, but not to add to the Creator of the Realm, Who already contains all that can or will ever truly be.

You receive and accept your rightful Power to add to the Realm when you have become wholly vigilant for the Divine and Its Realm. By accepting this Power as yours, you have learned to be what you are. Your creations belong in you, as you belong in the Divine. You are Part of the Divine, as your creations are Part of Its Creation. To truly love is to create, and to create is to love. Love extends Everywhere simply because It cannot be contained. Being limitless, It does not stop. It creates forever, but not in time. The Divine’s Creations have always been, because the Divine has always been. Your creations have always been, because you can create only as It creates. Eternity is yours because the Divine created you eternal.

The ego demands reciprocal rights because it is competitive rather than loving. It is always willing to make a deal, but it cannot understand that to be like another means that no deals are possible. To gain you must give, not bargain. To bargain is to limit giving, and this is not the Divine’s Will. To will with the Divine is to create like It. The Divine does not limit Its Gifts in any way. You are one of Its Gifts, and so your gifts must be like Its. Your gifts to the Realm are like Its to you.

I give only Love to the Realm because I know that Love is what I am. What you believe you are determines your gifts, and if the Divine created you by extending Itself as you, you can only extend yourself as It did. Only Joy increases forever. Joy and Eternity are inseparable. The Divine extends Everywhere beyond limits and beyond time, and you, who are Cocreators with It, extend Its Realm forever and beyond limit. Eternity is the indelible stamp of Creation. The eternal are in Peace and Joy forever.

To think like the Divine is to share Its Certainty of what you are. And to create like It is to share the perfect Love It shares with you. To this the Holy Spirit leads you that your Joy may be complete, because the Realm of the Divine is Whole.

This Course stated earlier that the final step in the transfer from perception to Knowledge, i.e., in awakening, is taken by the Divine. This Truth is beyond words and beyond explanation because words are merely symbols, and nothing that is true needs to be explained. However, the Holy Spirit always has the Mission of translating the useless into the Useful, the meaningless into the Meaningful, and the temporary into the Timeless, wherever these can be translated. Spirit can, therefore, tell something about this last or Final Step, but this Step you must come to know yourself, because by It you know what you are. This is your being.

In Truth beyond words the Divine does not take steps because Its Accomplishments are not gradual. It does not teach because Its Creations are changeless. It does nothing last because It created first and for always. Therefore it must be understood that the word “first” as applied to the Divine is not a time concept. It is first only in the sense that It is First in the Holy Trinity Itself. It is the Prime Creator because It created Its Cocreators. Because It did, time applies neither to It nor to what It created. The Final Step that the Divine takes was therefore true in the beginning, is true now, and will be true forever.

What is timeless is always there because Its being is eternally changeless. It does not change by increase, because It was forever created to increase. If you perceive It as not increasing, you do not know what It is. You also do not know What created It, or Who that is. The Divine does not need to reveal this to you because it was never hidden. Its Light was never obscured, because it is Its Will to share it. How can what is fully shared be withheld and then revealed?
