Today’s idea extends yesterday’s idea from the perceiver to the perceived. You are holy because your mind is Part of the Divine’s. And because you are holy, your vision and what you see must be holy as well.
“Holiness” means perfect as the Divine created you. You cannot be perfect a little. You are holy or not. If your mind is Part of the Divine’s then you must be holy, or a Part of the Divine’s Mind would be flawed and unholy. Your seeing is an extension of the Divine’s Holiness through your own. It has no connection to your ego and therefore not to your body as the ego’s symbol of limitation.
Four practice periods of three to five minutes each are required for practicing today’s idea. Try to distribute them fairly evenly across your waking day, and to make the shorter applications frequently, to safeguard your protection from mis-projection throughout the day.
The longer practice periods should take the following form. First, close your eyes and repeat the idea for today several times slowly. Then open your eyes and glance quite slowly about you, applying the idea specifically to whatever you note in your casual survey. Say, for example:
“My holiness envelops that rug.”
“My holiness envelops this pencil.”
“My holiness envelops that wall.”
“My holiness envelops these fingers.”
“My holiness envelops that dandelion.”
Close your eyes and repeat the idea to yourself several times during each practice period. Then open your eyes and continue as before.
For the shorter exercise periods, close your eyes and repeat the idea, then open your eyes and glance about you as you repeat it again, and conclude with one more repetition with your eyes closed. All applications should, of course, be made quite slowly, as effortlessly and unhurriedly as possible.
